Directed by Gurudatha Ganiga, Karavali will hit theatres on July 24, 2026. Interestingly, the release comes almost exactly one year after Su From So became a surprise blockbuster and revived confidence in Kannada cinema.
Speaking about the film, Ganiga said the team has created an honest story and believes audiences will connect with it. Meanwhile, expectations surrounding the project continue to grow across Karnataka.
Story Rooted in Coastal Karnataka
Karavali is set against the backdrop of coastal Karnataka and explores the relationship between humans, animals, and tradition. The story unfolds in a rural setting where questions of survival, power, and morality take center stage.
Furthermore, the film draws heavily from the region’s cultural heritage. Kambala, the traditional buffalo race of coastal Karnataka, plays a significant role in the narrative and serves as one of the film’s major highlights.
