Will Gamjaal be affected by Pogaru

Tulu film Gamjaal, which is set to release on February 19 is facing competition from Pogaru in box office. Both the films are releasing on the same day. Now the big question is will the clash affect box office collections.

Gamjaal is releasing with huge expectations. The film is expected to take record breaking opening at box office in Tulunadu, due to many factors, primarily being Roopesh Shetty. The film has also been marketed excellently by the team and it looks like nothing can stop the film. How ever Dhruva Sarja starrer Pogaru is also releasing on the same day. Trade analysts feel that Pogaru may impact Gamjaal’s collections.

Dhruva Sarja is a big star in Sandalwood. This is his fourth film. His first three films Addhuri, Bahaddur and Bharjari have been huge hits. Pogaru is coming to screens after 3 years. The song in the film has become a huge hit. Popular south actress Rashmika Mandanna is playing the female lead in the film. The type of the film is so huge that the film is being dubbed in Tamil and Telugu and is releasing in 1000 screens across south India.

The film will also be released in grand manner in Mangaluru and Udupi. So will people prefer Pogaru over Gamjaal? Ajith, a student says, ” I don’t think there will be any effect on Pogaru. Tulunadu people prefer good Tulu films any day. Gamjaal will do well at the box office for sure. By this I do not mean, Pogaru will not do well. It’s a commercial film with loads of action. So the audience for both films is different. Tulunadu people prefer light hearted films and Gamjaal will surely be first choice.”

Agreeing to what Ajith says, Sheeja, who is a media personnel says, “Gamjaal will be the first choice of people in Tulunadu. Pogaru is a mass film which will surely open well. However Gamjaal will not at all be affected. If Gamjaal is released in Bengaluru on the same day, it may be affected. But in Tulunadu, there is no way Gamjaal will be affected. I feel indirectly Pogaru will be benefitted. if people do not get tickets to watch Gamjaal, they may end up watching Pogaru,” she opines.

So in all it looks Gamjaal will not be affected much by Pogaru. Let’s wait and see on February 19, what is in store for both the films.
