Dubai, Oct 2, 2023: The Karnataka Sangha Dubai, one of the most esteemed associations of Kannadigas, is set to host a spectacular ‘Karnataka Rajyotsava 2023’ celebration. Founded in 1985, this association has diligently served non-resident Kannadigas for 38 years, spanning fields such as art, folk, business, language, and culture.
In a historic joint meeting held at the Fortune Atrium Hotel Karama, representatives from various state-wise Karnataka associations in Dubai came together on September 29, 2023, to pledge their wholehearted support for the 68th Karnataka Rajyotsava Celebration. This momentous event marks the first of its kind in the entire GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region.
Anticipation is high for the Mega Karnataka Rajyotsava Celebration in Dubai, which is expected to outshine all others in the Gulf. With over 3000 Kannadigas anticipated to participate, this grand event is scheduled for November 26, 2023, at Al Nasr Leisureland, Dubai. Shri. Shashidar Nagarajappa, President of Karnataka Sangha Dubai, made the exciting announcement during the meeting, hinting at numerous surprises and activities that await attendees.
Key members of Karnataka Sangha Dubai, including Vice President Shri. Daya Kirodian, General Secretary Shri. Manohar Hegde, Joint Secretary Shri. Mallikarjuna Gowda, and Treasurer Shri. Nagaraj Rao Udupi, unveiled the meticulously planned activities and arrangements for the Rajyotsava Celebration. Their impassioned plea for active participation and support resonated with all the Karnataka associations in Dubai.
In a show of solidarity, the Patron of Karnataka Sangha Dubai, Shri. Harish Bangera, and Advisor Shri. Jayanth Shetty called upon the Presidents of all Karnataka Associations in the UAE to extend their cooperation and become integral parts of this celebration.
The meeting also saw the ceremonial release of the event’s inaugural flyer and entry tickets by various association Presidents. Distinguished attendees included Shri. Pravin Kumar Shetty, President of Karnataka NRI Forum Dubai; Shri. James Mendonca, President of Mangalore Konkans; Shri. Alwyn Pinto, President of Billwas Family Dubai; Shri. Deepak S.P., Vice President of Mogaveers UAE; and Shri. Balakrishna Salian, President of Vokkaliga Balaga UAE, among others.
Several Presidents who were unable to attend in person conveyed their wholehearted support via written messages. These esteemed leaders included Shri. M.E. Moolur of Beary’s Cultural Forum, Shri. Harish Sherigar, a prominent businessman and film producer, Shri. Sarvotham Shetty, President of Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi, Shri. Satish Poojary, President of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Shri. Sudhakar Rao Pejavar, President of Brahmanara Samaja UAE, Shri. Dinesh Shetty Kottinja of Yakshagana Abyasa Taragati, and Shri. Ashok Bailur.
